Like when you find a good mechanic, when you find a person with such a good work ethic to take care of your house, you won’t ever change. We recently moved into an apartment in Scarsdale that was built in 1981. The place had not been painted or renovated since it was built. The walls were in terrible condition. In places, wall paper had to be taken down which caused damage to the drywall. Mirrors were glued to the wall which caused further damage to the drywall. I took various bids from painters. Lou DaSilva provided a competitive bid, and promised to complete the work in a 5 day time frame (a tall order for a 1500 square foot home, especially given the extensive wall repairs involved.) Despite the damage being more extensive than Lou originally expected, he not only got the job done on time, he also stood by his original quote and did a FANTASTIC job. The place looks brand new. Other contractors would have simply put up a coat of paint. Lou really took it to the next step to do the job right. I am thrilled I used him, and would definitely recommend him. He is a gentlemen, he is trustworthy, you cannot go wrong here.
We were very happy to have Da Silva Painting paint the interior of our new home prior to our moving in. He removed some stubborn wallpaper in the kitchen and master bath, fixed flaws in the walls before painting over and the result was really beautiful. He responded quickly with an estimate. He showed up right away to begin work. Decks were washed & water-proofed. I am pleased with the job as the deck looks brand new now. Price was good.
Project: Powerwash Exterior Surfaces
We just had DaSilva Painting & Remodeling powerwash the exterior of our house and clean the roof as it was black from mold and mildew. The end product was great! The exterior was cleaned nicely and the roof looked like new! I would definitely recommend this company as not only are the workers professional and do great work, Lou DaSilva is very personable individual who is more than competent in what he does. I thought that the power washing you did at my house on Tuesday looks very good. I was especially pleased with the front bricks. They look like they did when they put them in.
I am sure that the back patio was more difficult and you worked hard to get out the black stains in the stones. I know that some of that black is part of the stones now and won’t ever change back.

When we bought our first house four years ago, we contracted Lou to do a number of repairs and renovations. He was recommended to us by our borker, whom he trusted. Furthermore, every reference we called could not say enough good things about him.
In the month between the closing date and our move, we needed him to paint the entire interior, sand and stain the wood floors, remove paneling, replace about 14 doors, the main banister and install new lighting fixtures in four rooms. Later he redid two bathrooms. Lou was very considerate of our needs and conscientious of the time frame we wanted all this done. He scheduled his work so that the most intrusive jobs were finished before our move. He saved the more confined work for the last so that we could live in our house without inconvenience.
Two years later we engaged Lou again to repaint the exterior of the house, install a new patio and fence in our back yard, insulated the attic and make some minor repairs.
Prior to this house we did renovations in our co-op several times. Lou is by far the best contractor we have worked with. His craftsmanship is impeccable, and he is thorough and conscientious about every detail of the job.
